Betty Burleson of Waco died early Tuesday morning, October 15, 2013, at the age of 81. Graveside services and interment will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 21, 2013, at Caddo Cemetery near Joshua, Texas, under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Reverend Gene Wolfenbarger officiating. Viewing commence at 10:00 A.M. Sunday with a formal visitation from 6 to 8 P.M. at Cole Funeral Home. In A covered wagon, Betty was born in May 1, 1932, in Alva, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Thomas Ruby and Lilly Ella (Howell) Sidener. She attended Killeen Elementary School and married Jack Winston Burleson May 7, 1950, in Mineral Wells, Texas. After fifty-six years of marriage, he preceded her in death September 13, 2006. Much of her life was spent as a homemaker and she moved to Speegleville from Joshua in 2006. Survivors include a daughter, Daisy Edwards and husband Larry of Waco; two granddaughters, Stacey Jones and husband Virgil, Shelley Chapman and husband Damon all of Waco; four great grandchildren, Connor Jones, McKenzie Jones, Summer Jeffery and Tate MacGregor.Honorary casketbearers will be Virgil Jones, Tate MacGregor, Connor Jones and Larry Edwards.
