Billy Lippe of McGregor died Wednesday night, June 19, 2013, at the age of 79. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Memorial Park in Crawford.Mr. Lippe was born September 8, 1933, in McGregor, Texas, the son of the late Fred and Emma Louise (Geltemeyer) Lippe, Sr. He began his education in Crawford and was a 1952 graduate of Oglesby High School where he participated in the FFA Program. He served his country in the United States Army and was discharged as a Corporal. The life time McGregor resident was employed by Anderson Oil and Tire in McGregor as an attendant for many years where he made many customer friends. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Fred Lippe, Jr., Marvin Lippe; three sisters, Clara Struempler, Adeline Steinke and Johanna Lammert.Survivors include a sister, Loraine Crabtree and husband Fred of Nevada and many nieces and nephews.
