Carey Lee Fisher, 84, of Moody, Texas, passed away on November 5, 2026, in Temple, Texas.
Born on October 11, 1942, in Waco, Texas, Carey was the daughter of Leonard Aubrey Simpson and Cary Lois Morgan Simpson. She graduated from Waco High School and later attended Texas State Technical College, receiving a culinary certificate.
On February 24, 1961, Carey married the love of her life, Jerry Don Fisher. Together, they built a life and family that remained at the center of her world. Carey devoted more than 30 years of her working life to serving as a secretary at the Methodist Church, where her years of dedication reflected her commitment to her work and community. Her church home was First Methodist Church of Moody, where she found a place of faith and fellowship.
Carey found joy in the everyday things that made a house a home. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, working puzzles, and cooking. Whether creating something with her hands or preparing something in the kitchen, she appreciated the simple pleasures of life and the time spent with those she loved.
Family was an important part of Carey's life, and her legacy continues through the generations who will remember her and carry her memory forward.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Fisher and Ernie Fisher and wife Serena; her brothers, Morgan Simpson and Lynn Simpson; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Fisher Renfro.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Don Fisher; her parents; and her grandchildren, Lauren Fisher, Logan Fisher, Chloe Fisher, and Bronc Fisher.
Carey's life will be honored with a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on November 10, 2026, at Greenbriar Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas. A memorial service at her church will be at a later date.
