Obituary

Charlotte Yvonne Biggs Wiethorn died peacefully on April 27 at her home in Crawford, Texas, after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis. Born September 14, 1943, she was the only child of the late Woodrow and Ruth Biggs, also of Crawford. Charlotte attended Crawford public schools, where she met her sweetheart, Charles Ray Wiethorn. They married on January 26, 1962. The couple moved to Dallas in 1965, where Mr. Wiethorn eventually began his own moving company. Charlotte was instrumental in assisting him with his business, answering phones and acting as administrative assistant.Unquestionably, Charlotte's greatest love was her family, and it was in the role of homemaker that her talents and abilities were most evident. A gifted seamstress, she will always be remembered for her ability to create virtually anything, from her young daughters' doll clothes to the latest fashion trends and home décor. Afternoons and weekends with her children and grandchildren included crafting as well as sewing; her daughters affectionately remember her spending hours creating doll designs from old bowling pins to benefit their school's PTA, to which she devoted herself tirelessly. As PTA president and room mother, Charlotte was actively involved in her childrens' school, and eventually earned life membership in the organization.Charlotte's homemaking skills didn't end in the craft room, however. She was an amazing cook, and made it a priority to have a home-cooked meal on the table by 6 PM. She took great pleasure in creating a beautiful home for her family. Charlotte particularly enjoyed decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween, which allowed her to express the rather unique and fun, more mischievous aspect of her personality. These celebrations will always be remembered with delight.Charlotte will be loved and missed by her devoted husband of 53 years, Charles Wiethorn, her two daughters, Ruthi Worsham and husband, Stephen, Ronda Pruett and husband Ross, and son Charles Randel "Randy" Wiethorn, and grandchildren, Andrew Pruett, Alexandria Worsham Carpenter and husband Aron, Phillip Worsham, Madeleine Worsham, Nathan Worsham, Rebekah Wiethorn, and Jessica Wiethorn. The family would like to acknowledge the love and attention of the caregivers at Providence Hospice, and the friends and family members who have, over the past several years, brought gifts, food, and smiling faces to the home. You know who you are, and you will never be forgotten.Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 3, at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Charlotte Wiethorn.
