Darrell Glen Wiley, age 61 of McGregor, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, in Waco, Texas. A memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Cole Funeral Home with Ronnie Geeslin officiating.

Darrell was born on September 21, 1962, in Clifton, Texas to Dewey Brencley and Joyce (Smith) Wiley. Darrell was a lifetime resident of McGregor. He worked at Hobbs Bonded Fiber and in recent years was a full time Papa to his Shorty. On September 15, 1990, Darrell married Karen Rena Raborn in McGregor and as his mom said, if you can hang on for the ride, he will make a great husband.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debra Bottoms.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Karen Wiley of McGregor; daughters, Christal Gail Wiley of McGregor, Tasha Kay Valdez of McGregor; son, D. J. Wiley, Jr., and wife, Leanne of McGregor; grandchildren: Maggie "Shorty" Dawn Wiley, Jonathan Valdez, Colton Valdez, Justin Diaz, Jared Diaz, Ashlynn Cockrum, Jamie Westerfield, Reane Westerfield; brother, David Wiley and wife Susan of Bruceville Eddy.

Darrell had a tough exterior and said what was on his mind, but if you survived his picking and teasing, he welcomed and loved you with his whole heart.
