DeAlma Juanita Patterson, age 96, of Bruceville, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Moody Cemetery.

Nita was born on August 19, 1928, to John Henry and Carrie DeAlma (Chumbley) Campbell in Brady, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McLennan County Texas. Nita graduated from Brady High School. She married the love of her life, James Wilson Patterson on September 1, 1946. She retired from the postal service in 1986. She also worked with Santa Fe Railroad from July 1945-1946. Nita was involved with P.T. A. , Civic activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moody. She enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Wilson Patterson, husband, Charles R. Eakin. Sisters, Doris Madine Jones, Paula Lynne Krout, brothers, John Richard Campbell, and Robert Ray Campbell.

Survivors include her daughters, Marsha Neeper of Bruceville, Vicki Whitesell of Bruceville, and Dana Wodtke of Bay Springs, Mississippi, 4 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
