Earl Manton Lynch, 94, of Temple, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Moody Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Monday, May 23rd at Cole Funeral Home in Moody. Mr. Lynch was born on November 8, 1921 near Moody, Texas to Francis and Lily Rutherford Lynch. He attended school in Eddy, Texas then joined the United States Army in 1942 serving in the South Pacific. After returning home he worked for the V.A. Hospital in Temple for 32 years. He married Mathilda (Shirley) Behnke on September 27, 1955 in Waco; she preceded him in death on December 12, 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents, sister, Hazel Lynch Coulter and three brothers, Charlie Ross, Francis and Harold Lynch.Survivors include his brother, Hugh Lynch of Moody, Texas, two nephews and three nieces.
