Eleanor "Ms Mac" McMakin of McGregor died Thursday morning, December 22, 2011, at the age of 91. "Ms Mac" was born March 21, 1920, in Alta Loma, Texas, the daughter of the late William and Mary Katherine (Lapp) Manthei where she attended school. On March 3, 1948, she married Harvey Allen McMakin in Phoenix, Arizona. After forty-nine years of marriage, he preceded her in death April 24, 1997. Much of her life was spent as a homemaker, as she enjoyed cooking and sewing. While living in Irving, she was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star and moved to McGregor in 1980, to make her home. Survivors include two granddaughters, Lori Parrish, Ella Kingrey; a great granddaughter, Brandy Kingrey and a great great grandson.
