Genamae Edwards of Troy died Saturday morning, January 7, 2012, at the age of 93. Graveside services and interment will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Buckhorn Cemetery South of Moody, under the direction of Cole Chapel, with Reverend Ernest Thompson officiating. Mrs. Edwards was born July 22, 1918, in Coryell County, Texas, the daughter of the late Arnold and Willie (Tippit) Galloway. She married Robert E. Lee Edwards in Bell County, Texas and lived in Troy since 1949. He preceded her in death August 11, 1995. For twenty years, she was employed by the Veterans Hospital in Temple as a Dietetic Supervisor prior to her 1990 retirement. Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening and being with her family. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, J.T. Galloway, Tom Galloway, LeRoy Galloway, Ivy Galloway; two sisters, Reid Farris and Sade Fuller.Survivors include a son Bobby Gene Edwards of Troy; a daughter, Rita Joe Hawkins and husband Jerry of Troup; four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
