Geneva Goff of McGregor passed away Sunday night, July 22, 2012, at the age of 77. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor, with Jon Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Cole Funeral Home.Mrs. Goff was born May 18, 1935, in Moody, Texas, the daughter of the late Oddie and Mabel Doris (Scoggins) Ferrell. In 1948 she moved to McGregor from Moody and began her education at Highland School and was a 1952 graduate of McGregor High School. On June 1, 1952, she married J.C. Goff in McGregor, Texas. Geneva was employed as a teller at First National Bank of McGregor for many years. She later was a secretary for Farmland Industries and retired as a teller from Rocket Federal Credit Union. Geneva was an active member of the Sixth and Adams Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School teacher and worked with Vacation Bible School in earlier years. She was a dedicated member of the Ladies Bible Class as long as her health permitted. In earlier years, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a team mother for the McGregor Little League. She also served the McGregor community as a volunteer driver for the McGregor Ambulance Association. An avid reader, she was also a fan of the Texas Rangers.Also preceding her in death was a brother, Gordon Ferrell.Survivors include her husband of sixty years, J.C. Goff; three sons, David Wayne Goff and wife Sharon, Jerry Dan Goff and wife Kathy, Alex Eugene Goff and wife Karen all of McGregor; a sister, Ernestine Denard and husband Howard of Waco; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; Casketbearers will be John David Goff, Jeffrey Dustin Goff, Jerimy Ray Goff, Brazos Sam Skipper, Melvin Hill and Mike Horton.
