Gladys Sanders 84 of Crawford passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Memorial Park under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.

Gladys was born June 21, 1927, in Coryell City, the daughter of the late Robert and Clara (Buth) Neuman. She began her education in Coryell City and was a 1943 graduate of Gatesville High School. On October 26, 1944, she married Otto Sanders at St. John Lutheran Church in Coryell City. Around 1960, the couple moved to Crawford where they have made their home. For many years she was employed by Career Girl as a saleslady in Waco.

While living in Coryell City, she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford where she has also taught Sunday School, served on the alter guild, was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the bereavement committee. In her spare time, she took great interest in sewing, working in her garden and keeping her grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death was an infant daughter, Scarlette Rachelle Meyer; a granddaughter, Leslie Lynn Meyer; a son-in-law, Larry Meyer; three brothers, Alvin Miller, Ernest Neuman, Walter Neuman; three sisters, Elsie Rabbe, Lenora Woodley and Olga Gohlke.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, Otto; two daughters, Sherry Meyer, Connie Meyer and husband Stanley all of Crawford; one brother, Delmer Neuman and wife Marry Ellen of Lorena; one half sister, Helma Landfried of Waco; five grandchildren, Brent Meyer and wife Meredith, Rachelle Rogers and husband Doug, Keith Meyer, Clint Meyer, Clay Meyer; three great grandchildren, Blake Meyer, Kendra Meyer and Lyrik Meyer.

Casketbearers will be Robert Gohlke, Randy Neuman, Perry Neuman, Keith Woodley, Dennis Rabbe and Roy Neuman.
