Harlan Hal Huffman of McGregor died Sunday morning, May 6, 2012. Private graveside services and interment will be Monday, May 7, 2012, at McGregor Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. A public reception will be held at 5 P.M. at the Main Place in McGregor.Mr. Huffman was born June 25, 1942 in Moshiem, Texas, the son of L.J. and Anna Pearl (Gatlin) Huffman and graduated from Lorena High School. He continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1965. For ten years he was employed by LTV-Aeronautics before returning to McGregor to farm. On August 27, 1960, he married Hope Hudson in McGregor. Mr. Huffman served in many organizations and boards to include Board of Directors of Texas Farm Bureau for six years, President of Texas Beef Council, Farm Service Agency, Committee member, and Board of Directors of USMEF.Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Hope Huffman; his mother Anna Pearl Huffman; two sons, Keith Huffman and wife Karen, Kevin Huffman and wife Sheryl; six grandchildren, Mathew, Andrea, and husband Tyler Edson, Shelby, Heath, Clay and Reese; one great granddaughter, Aubrey; a brother, Gary Huffman; a sister, Jan Willis and husband Dan.For those desiring, the family has suggested McGregor Emergency Medical Service, St. Jude's Hospital or First Baptist Church of McGregor for memorial contributions.
