McKay Rice, Jr., 83, of Moody, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 in a Temple nursing home. Graveside services were held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Moody Cemetery at 3:00 PM with Mr. Mike Perryman officiating.Mr. Rice was born on July 11, 1930 in Temple, Texas to McKay and Estelle (Mabry) Rice. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Rice was a farmer and rancher the majority of his life. He was a Mason and a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rosemary Rice and his son, Byron Shelton Rice.Survivors include his son McKay (Chip) Rice, III and his wife, Rhonda of Joshua, daughter-in-law, Carrie Rice, companion, Ann Pruett, grandsons, Caleb Rice, Cade, Rice, Carson Rice and Mark Alan Rice and great granddaughters, Aurora and Emberly.
