Neil Maedgen, 59, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Temple. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, October 28, 2016 At Cole Chapel in Moody with Chaplain Barry Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 27th at the funeral home.Mr. Maedgen was born on October 6, 1957 in Waco to Cleveland and Louise (Davis) Maedgen. He married Iona on November 9, 1987 and they celebrated over 28 wonderful years together. After retiring as a plumber he owned and operated Little Buster's Fishing and Hunting in Troy. He loved bowling, pool, fishing, hunting and NASCAR but his true love was his family. His parents preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, Iona Maedgen; sons, Jeff Maedgen and his fiancé, Nichole and Kenneth Maedgen and his wife, Terri; Step son, Allen Fields and his wife, Crystal; step daughter, Kathy Housewright and her husband, Stanley; grandchildren, Randall, Justin, Christopher, Kaylin, Shelby, Caden and Kelsy; great grandchildren, Bralen, Makenzie, Skylar, AnnaLynn, Brylee, Braylon and Landyn; his beloved pet, Rufus the Basset Hound and numerous dear friends.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sodalis Hospice, 2728 Cottonwood Lane, Temple, Texas 76502.
