Rose Engel, 80, passed away at her home February 21, 2014 surrounded by her family in McGregor, Texas.A memorial service was held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel in McGregor, Texas.Rosemary Louise (Maire) Engel was born August 7, 1933 in Danville, Illinois to James and Francine Maire. Rose attended Oaklawn School in Danville, IL. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, John Roy Nichols, Jr.Rose is survived by her husband, Orville Engel of McGregor, sons, James Nichols of Picayune, Mississippi, and John Nichols and wife Lucinda of Hewitt; daughter, Lori Nichols/Hernandez d husband Sammy of Bosqueville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.The family would like to acknowledge and thank the angelic care givers from Providence Hospice and the Crisis Care nurses.Arrangements under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, TX.
