The free-spirited Sandra Lu Searcy of Lake Whitney Texas found her peace on February 6, 2023, at the age of 64. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Sandy was born on February 15, 1958, in Gatesville, Texas to Dot Redding Searcy and Dorothy Lou Searcy (Hemphill). She was the middle child of eight children and graduated from Moody High School in 1975. Her work life consisted of retail and hospitality services, and she was most proud of her job at the nursing home from 2005 to 2015.

Her kind soul is preceded in death by her parents and by her eldest sister Cheryl Keilman of Copperas Cove, who passed away in 2022. Sandy is survived by her brother Michael Searcy of Jarrell and by her five sisters: Mary Myers of Whitney, Donna Garibay of San Antonio, Jackie Groat of Salado, Cookie Hunter of Houston, and Kelli Yarbrough of Lorena.

Her memory will be carried on by her son Jason Vazquez and wife Leah with two grandkids, Gracie and Eddy of Midlothian; her daughter Tori Brothers and husband Scott with two grandkids, Eli and Silas of Belton; and also, by her youngest daughter Caitlyn Strom and granddaughter Piper Rose of Corsicana.
A memorial of her life and good-hearted spirit will be held on February 18, 2023 at Cole Funeral home in McGregor from 1pm – 3pm.
