Sybol L. Word, 88, of Eddy, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, Texas, officiated by Reverend Mickey Fugitt. A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2020 at the funeral home.

Sybol was born on October 1, 1932, in Forest, Louisiana, to Clarence B. Fox and Myrtle (Lang) Fox. She grew up in Start, Louisiana and graduated from Start High School in 1950. Sybol married Jimmie M. Word on June 1, 1950. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Moody, Texas. Sybol's interests included photography, gardening, reading, and writing. Her greatest love was her family.

Preceding Sybol in death were husband, Jimmy M. Word and grandson, Major James Torres.

Survivors include daughter, Rita Carol Torres, of Eddy; sons, Mike Word and wife, Helen, of Grapeland, Bill Word and wife, Mary Ellen, of Eddy, Jon Word and wife, Peggy, of Milford, Massachusetts,; ten grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; brother Sonny Fox of Epps, Louisiana; and sister, Rita Faye Watson of Delhi, Louisiana.
