Velma L. Stone of Waco passed away Monday morning, March 25, 2013, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Stone was born April 9, 1920, in Plainview, Texas, the daughter of the late Alsie L. and Annie L. (Finkenbinder) Cox.She will be remembered for her beautiful art work and handmade quilts.She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; three brothers; husband, Truman Stone; son, Henry and daughter-in-law Judy.Survivors include a daughter, Martha and son-in-law James "Bud" Jarosek; six grandchildren and their spouses; and nine great grandchildren.The family wish to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Barry Shefa and Providence Hospice.
